About Us

Our Purpose

ThreadLab is creating the most convenient and customer-friendly clothing service available to man. Clothing should fit the first time you try it on. Finding new clothing that makes you look and feel great should be easy. We are using technology to solve these problems and make your life easier.

Our Story

Early in 2008, while getting his MBA at NYU Stern, Will wrote the business plan for ThreadLab and pitched the concept to a few professors.

In 2011, we watched the subscription shopping and online personal shopping markets evolve with companies like ShoeDazzle, BirchBox, and Trunk Club gaining significant traction.

In 2012, we began testing the existing online and in-store personal shopping services and saw there still was no affordable, low-touch shopping solution.

To reinvent men’s clothing shopping, in 2013, we built a team that didn’t come from retail—a team that was not founded in the fashion world—a team with a clean perspective.

We studied the tedious process of shopping, broke it down, and are making it more efficient and more effective.

ThreadLab is the innovative, affordable, and convenient way to get timeless menswear classics.

The Team

Will Hench, Co-Founder

Will has a BA from Harvard and an MBA from NYU Stern with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has a background in start-up business development and helped found RBM Technologies, a Retail Visual Merchandising Software as a Service start-up.

While taking Retail Operations at Stern, Will wrote the business plan for ThreadLab with a vision for re-inventing the frustating and time consuming process of mens clothing discovery, curation and fit.

Andrew Hench, Co-Founder

“We built this service for the regular guy who doesn’t shop, doesn’t want to spend a ton on clothing, and doesn’t want a ‘stylist.’ We want data and technology to drive the process to make it low touch, more convenient and more effective for the customer.” Andrew has a BA from Wheaton College and is in charge of ThreadLab customer happiness and operations. In his previous life, he worked in sales and client service at Wayfair.com.

Born and raised a die-hard Boston sports fan, Andrew gets wicked psyched for game days, Sunday Funday, surfing, skiing, golf, and soccer.
