What is ThreadLab?

ThreadLab is an online men’s personal shopping service designed to make life easier. We use a combination of data-driven technology, super-friendly customer service, the best menswear brands and a network of style savvy shoppers to get you the clothes you need, at awesome prices, effortlessly. We offer on-demand orders and subscriptions plus free returns/exchanges to keep your life simple and easy.


How does ThreadLab work?

1. Sign up

Signing up for ThreadLab is free and takes about a minute. We ask for basic information like size, weight, age, desired price ranges, brands you like and the colors/patterns you wear. This helps us understand your sizes, preferences and budget. You can update this information any time in Your Account.

2. Place an order (any time) or set up a Subscription

Simply select the Product Categories you need and how much you’re looking to spend, and we’ll find the best products for you. We offer an optional Order Preview by email if you’d like to see the items we’ve selected for you. You can edit the selection before we ship. If you prefer a surprise assortment of items, you can opt out of the Order Preview. We are flexible and customer-friendly.

3. Shipment arrives

  1. Try everything on (minus the socks and underwear.)
  2. Returns must be in new condition with tags and no signs of wear.
  3. Check out by logging into Your Account and clicking on your order in Order History. Request exchanges and provide feedback on any items so that your future orders will be even more precise.
  4. If you decide you need to return, or exchange something, no problem. We always include a self-sealing pre-paid UPS label.

4. Give feedback that makes the service even better for you

Provide as much feedback as possible on every item. We give you a chance to provide feedback at Order Preview and once your order arrives. This way our system learns more about you and the clothes that will work best, making your future ordering even easier. Additionally, you can always give us more details about your preferences by refining your Product Preferences or Brand Preferences in Your Account.


How much does it cost?

When you sign up, you set your price ranges for every Product Category. You can also choose the Budget for each order from $39 up to $299 depending on how many items you need.

  • Casual Shirts: $29.99 – $89.99
  • Chinos: $34.99 – $89.99
  • Jeans: $34.99 – $169.99
  • Polo Short Sleeves / Golf Shirts: $24.99 – $89.99
  • Shorts: $24.99 – $79.99
  • Socks: $3.99 – $14.99 per pair
  • Sweaters: $34.99 – $89.99
  • Sweatshirts: $29.99 – $59.99
  • T-shirts: $9.99 – $39.99
  • Undershirts: $3.99 – $24.99 per unit

What products do you carry?

We focus on menswear essentials for business casual and weekend casual settings. We carry basic staples such as jeans, chinos, polo shirts, button-up casual shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, dress socks, athletic socks and undergarments. When you place an order, you’ll see all the Product Categories we have available at this time.


What type of guy will benefit most from ThreadLab?

Our service works best for the guy who simply doesn’t have the time, patience or interest to think about fashion or clothes shopping.

If you find clothing boring and frustrating, ThreadLab will benefit you.

If you know you need new clothing, but have zero interest in shopping we’ll help you look great and make life easier.


What brands can I expect?​

After you sign up, you can go into Brand Preferences in Your Account to see the brands we carry. You can also eliminate brands so that we only send you brands that you like to wear. We source from a wide variety of brands – large name brands found at Nordstrom and Macy’s such as Levi’s, Ben Sherman, Original Penguin, Brooks Brothers, GAP, J.Crew, UNIQLO, Polo, Calvin Klein and Bonobos.

We also include smaller up and coming brands that offer great quality and value such as Jumper Threads, Pistol Lake, Big Star, Boast and Canvas. We will help you discover the best brands for your body type, fit preference, lifestyle and budget.


How is ThreadLab a more effective shopping experience?​

We make getting your clothes fast and easy. You don’t have to browse through hundreds of items or waste time stuck in the crowds at the mall.

We take the time to make sure the brands and items we offer are good quality and that each item will work for your body type.

To top it off, the more you use ThreadLab, the faster and easier your shopping will get. Your feedback and preferences are taken into consideration on every order and over time our system evolves to know your preferences.

You’ll spend less time, less money, and end up with better fitting awesome clothes.


Where do you ship?

We currently ship to all 50 US States, APO and FPO addresses plus PR.

For Alaska, Hawaii & APO/FPO customers: please be aware, you’ll need to cover any shipping costs for items sent back to ThreadLab.


When will my credit card be charged?

We charge your card when you place your order. This helps simplify your ThreadLab experience and also allows for better pricing and 365 days to return items.


What is the return policy?​

Return anything you don’t need within 365 days (unworn and tags on) and we’ll refund you for the value of those items in Store Credit or ship an Exchange. We will refund your original form of payment for the value of any products that prove to have manufacturer issue or product defect. If you aren’t 100% satisfied with your order, please email us and we’ll make things right. If you’re not happy, we’re not happy. To help make life a bit easier, we include a pre-paid return label in every box. Lost a label? No worries, email us at service@mythreadlab.com and we’ll email you a new one.

Please note: for Alaska, Hawaii, & APO/FPO addresses, you are responsible for return shipping costs.


What is an Order Preview?​

After you place an order, we show you a preview of the items we have selected for you, so that you can better control your order.

Want to see an example? Enter your email address and hit submit and we’ll send you a Sample Order Preview.


Does it matter how much I keep?​

The amount you keep is up to you, and we want you to be happy with the clothes you get.

So, if you need to return or exchange something, we cover the shipping for you.


How quickly can I receive my first shipment?​

Orders ship within 24-48 hours and are delivered via UPS standard ground shipping.

What do you do with my data and is it secure?​

We do not share or sell your data to any third parties so you will never receive spam or junk mail. We use SSL and encryption to keep customer information secure.​


Can I give you a list of items I really need?​

Yes of course – that’s part of the Place Order process.


Will I get the same gear as my friend? Will we look like twins?​

No two shipments are identical. Because we are brand agnostic, we can source from a wide variety of clothing manufacturers.


Are you a subscription service? Am I locked into anything?

We offer both Subscriptions and On Demand Orders. We offer returns for Customer Credit and exchanges on our Subscriptions and you can cancel or pause at any time from Your Account. Click here to set up a Subscription. We make it easy to configure your Subscription as you need it – pricing from $39 up to $299 per order and flexible frequency – monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or every four months.


Do you connect me with a Human Stylist?

ThreadLab does not require interaction with a stylist. However, if you would like to have an order created manually by one of our personal shoppers, or need serious help with your style, please email service@mythreadlab.com and we’ll have an expert reach out to you.
